We treat our athletes over here like kings and most of the sporting events like baseball and football are just a bunch of drunk fans being crazy. That's natural if it? means your man is going to take the hole. What Lee Westwood is referring to is abuse from fans. That's very different. I've never heard a bad word said about European fans in that respect. Cheering when the opposition hits a bad shot is very different to shouting abuse. Some Americans don't know the difference sadly!

Torrance commented after the ryder cup in brookline that monty couldnt take his yardages when he was in the rough, he had to work it out on the fairway and then go in and play the shots, due to the abuse he was getting in the crowd.
